Description
This activity discusses serrated lesions and polyps transitioning into colorectal cancer (focusing on standard of care and some colorectal cancer molecular testing guidelines), inflammatory bowel disease dysplasia, and pain points of adenoma subtypes.

This activity was originally presented at CAP20 as part of the activity Gastrointestinal, Liver, and Pancreaticobiliary Neoplasms: Precursors and Progeny Charting the Course.

Objectives
After completing this activity, you should be able to:

  1. Apply morphologic diagnostic criteria to distinguish between hyperplastic polyps and sessile serrated polyps/adenomas and identify traditional serrated adenomas.
  2. Review the molecular pathways involved in serrated neoplasia progression.
  3. Review the guidelines for gastroenterologists on follow-up of serrated lesions.
