Description
This activity features five challenging cases in which you will review whole slide images of peripheral blood, bone marrow aspirates, and core biopsies, as well as surgical specimens. You will be presented with information on each case including clinical history, specimen source information, diagnostic findings and other ancillary testing data, and a corresponding whole slide image.

After you complete each case by selecting the correct diagnosis, you will be presented with a 25-question assessment. These questions relate to each of the five cases.

Objectives
After completing this assessment activity, you should be able to:

  1. Recognize the clinical utility of ancillary tests in the course of working up a hematopathological diagnosis.
  2. Explain the clinical entity and the role of these tests in the diagnosis, treatment decisions, and prognosis.
  3. Interpret immunohistochemical stains for the diagnosis of specific hematolymphoid neoplasms.
  4. Interpret neoplastic and nonneoplastic entities of blood, bone marrow, lymph node, and other hematolymphoid tissue.
  5. Interpret other ancillary tests such as flow cytometry and incorporate these test results towards arriving at a final diagnosis.
