This online Neuropathology Program (NP) uses digital imaging technology and features a minisymposium followed by eight educational neuropathology cases. You will be presented with the clinical history, the tissue site, and applicable static and whole slide images. You will answer three educational questions, and then learn more about the diagnosis.
After you complete the cases, you will be presented with a 20-question posttest and printable PDFs containing the information and images from each case. Case summaries are available for download.
After completing this SAM eligible activity and posttest, you should be able to:
- Recognize clinical and neuroimaging characteristics that facilitate clinicopathologic correlation of neoplastic and nonneoplastic lesions of the nervous system, including muscle and nerve.
- Discuss gross, cytologic, and histologic features that help define a preliminary differential diagnosis.
- Identify ancillary tests including but not limited to, special stains, immunohistochemistry, and molecular testing, that help to confirm diagnosis and predict prognosis or influence therapeutic interventions.
