This activity features ten challenging cases with clinical histories, as well as a corresponding whole slide image. After you select a diagnosis, you will be presented with a case critique that includes the diagnosis, pertinent histological findings, a discussion of the differential diagnosis and other significant clinical and/or biological information. After you review the case critique, you will be presented with three educational questions that pertain to the case and contain additional diagnostic information.
As a result of participating in this assessment activity, you should be able to:
- Identify lesions from a variety of sites and specimen types.
- Recognize unusual diseases as well as uncommon presentations of common diseases.
- Assess diagnostic skills in surgical pathology.
- Use the program as a benchmark for diagnostic performance and as a source of information for quality improvement.
