Description
This online Neuropathology Program uses digital imaging technology and features a mini-symposium followed by eight educational neuropathology cases. Participants are asked to read the clinical case summaries with neuropathology findings, view applicable digital images, and indicate their answers to case questions provided for each case. There is also a 20-question post-test and printable PDFs containing the information and images from each case.

Objectives
After completing this SAM eligible activity and post-test, you should be able to:

  1. Recognize clinical and neuroimaging characteristics that facilitate clinicopathologic correlation of neoplastic and nonneoplastic lesions of the nervous system, including muscle and nerve.
  2. Discuss gross, cytologic and histologic features that help define a preliminary differential diagnosis.
  3. Identify ancillary tests including but not limited to, special stains, immunohistochemistry and molecular testing, that help to confirm diagnosis and predict prognosis or influence therapeutic interventions.

This activity meets the American Board of Pathology’s (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements for Self-Assessment Modules (SAMs).

Passing Requirements
You have a total of three opportunities to take and pass the post-test. If you correctly answer 70% or more of the post-test items, you may claim credit. CME/SAM credit can be applied to the American Board of Pathology (ABP) Self-Assessment Module (SAM) requirements. The AMA requires that you pass the post-test in a enduring program to claim credit; therefore, if you do not pass, you cannot claim credit.
