Description
B-lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma (B-ALL) represents the most common malignancy in the pediatric population and the second most common acute leukemia among adults. Unlike many neoplasms, morphology plays little role in the diagnosis of B-ALL. This activity will explore the application of a variety of testing methodologies to aid in the accurate diagnosis and classification of B-ALL.
This clinical pathology activity is intended for pathologists.
Objectives
After completing this activity, you should be able to:
- Describe the clinical presentation and pathological findings of B-ALL with ETV6::RUNX1.
- Identify the immunophenotypic features of B-ALL with ETV6::RUNX1.
- Select the appropriate cytogenetic tests for appropriate diagnostic workup.
- Describe the prognostic significance of ETV6::RUNX1.
