Description
Carbon monoxide poisoning is surprisingly common and often deadly. Treatment of carbon monoxide poisoning requires that such poisoning be diagnosed. This activity will help pathologists understand the clinical presentation, pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of CO poisoning.

This clinical pathology activity is intended for pathologists.

Objectives
After completing this activity, you should be able to:

  1. Recognize the clinical presentation of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.
  2. Explain the pathophysiology of CO poisoning.
  3. Diagnose CO poisoning using laboratory methods.
  4. Describe the basic treatments of CO poisoning.
