This course covers karyotyping, FISH probe design, managing limited samples, and interpreting abnormalities based on recent guidelines, helping you gain expertise in these techniques.

This clinical pathology activity is intended for pathologists.

Objectives
After completing this activity, you should be able to:

  1. Describe the pathogenesis of plasma cell neoplasms and their underlying cytogenetic aberrations.
  2. Recognize technical aspects of cytogenetic testing, including preanalytical, analytical, and postanalytical considerations, types of FISH probes and their design, and handling limited samples in plasma cell neoplasms.
  3. Identify relevant updates and new recommendations for cytogenetics testing of plasma cell neoplasms.
