  • The specimens in this program are not intended to be specific to a transport medium.
  • Laboratories should perform testing using the transport media routinely used in their facility.
  • If multiple media types are used, perform testing on one type per mailing.
  • If your facility does not have the required media available, TMSP and TMTP are available.
  • For laboratories that perform high-risk HPV (HrHPV) genotyping in-house, this program provides opportunities to report specific HPV genotypes, which are educational.
  • The CAP does not report genotyping responses to the CMS.
