The specimens in this program are not intended to be specific to a transport medium.
Laboratories should perform testing using the transport media routinely used in their facility.
If multiple media types are used, perform testing on one type per mailing.
If your facility does not have the required media available, TMSP and TMTP are available.
For laboratories that perform high-risk HPV (HrHPV) genotyping in-house, this program provides opportunities to report specific HPV genotypes, which are educational.
The CAP does not report genotyping responses to the CMS.
