        Description

Neoadjuvant therapy (NAT) is used increasingly in breast carcinoma. This activity will discuss the indications of NAT and important chemotherapeutic regimes. The activity will cover the recommendations of the international working group for assessing post-NAT resection specimens with emphasis on: the proper sampling of post-NAT specimens; estimation of tumor size and residual cancer burden; post-therapy staging issues; and essential components to include in the pathology report. Predictors of pathologic complete response will also be briefly discussed.
