POC Competency Challenges are designed to improve waived test results. These programs evaluate
instrument and method performance, troubleshoot, assess staff competency, and provide information to
train staff. Expected results will be provided. These programs are not proficiency testing programs and
participants will not return results to the CAP.
POC Competency Challenges may have limited availability and stability.

bold type are regulated for proficiency testing by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Program Information
- One abnormal 0.3‑mL lyophilized plasma specimens (five vials) and five corresponding diluents
- Each program provides material to test up to 10 staff
