Description
Between normoglycemia and diabetes is “prediabetes,” which affects at least 500 million people worldwide (~6% of the world’s population). Because people with prediabetes are at risk for type 2 diabetes and various complications, many experts recommend that prediabetes be treated. To initially treat prediabetes, prediabetes must be diagnosed. Therefore, the goal of this CPIP is to diagnose prediabetes and understand its clinical significance.

This clinical pathology activity is intended for pathologists.

Objectives
After completing this activity, you should be able to:

  1. Diagnose prediabetes.
  2. Recognize the complications of prediabetes.
