Description
This activity focuses on the epidemiology and life cycle of HPV, and the steps in HPV-related carcinogenesis. Keep abreast of current scientific knowledge by learning about different histopathologic features of HPV and how to classify them using the recommendations of the Lower Anogenital Squamous Terminology (LAST) project.
This activity was originally presented at CAP21 as part of the activity The Money is in the LAST Detail: Diagnosis and Management of Human Papillomavirus Infection-Associated Lesions.
Objectives
After completing this activity, you should be able to:
- Gain foundational knowledge of the human papillomavirus (HPV).
- Explain the course of HPV infection and the steps of cervical carcinogenesis.
- Understand the histopathologic features of HPV-associated precursor intraepithelial lesions.
- Apply the recommendations of the Lower Anogenital Squamous Terminology (LAST) project.
