Importation Resources

Prepare for Importation
  1. The CAP EQA/PT programs may require additional information and steps to allow importation into your country or republic. Access the Importation Resource Guide to understand the process and resources available.
  2. Contact your local government agency to identify importation and documentation requirements for clearance.
  3. Gather and prepare all required documents. Some supporting resources to help with the preparation include:
  4. Submit all required documents to your government agency prior to shipment (date of export) to avoid delays.

Please do not use the CAP Surveys Catalog program descriptions to prepare for permit preparation and clearance documents. For the most recent and accurate information, please contact the Customer Contact Center at 847-832-7000 (Country code: 001) Option 1 or email logistics@cap.org for important information. Important information - such as proficiency testing program source material (s), harmonized code (s), and UN classification codes for dangerous goods - should only be provided by a CAP-authorized representative or distributor.

For Canadian customers only - All orders for Canadian customers must be accompanied with a Purchase order number. Customs brokers cannot facilitate clearance without a Purchase order number for reference.

Export Compliance

The specimens and material and any related technology including technical information supplied by the CAP or contained in documents (collectively “items”) are subject to export controls of the US government. The export controls may include, but are not limited to, those of the export administration regulations of the US Department of Commerce (the “EAR”), which may restrict or require licenses for the export of items from the United States, their re-export, and the import of any item. The CAP will not export or distribute any item to any restricted or embargoed country or to any person or entity whose participation has been denied or restricted by the US government.

By submitting an order for any materials or services, you the Buyer, acknowledge that you are following compliance with international trade laws of the US and those of your country. You agree to cooperate fully with CAP in any official or unofficial inspection related to applicable export or import laws or regulations. Further you shall indemnify and hold CAP harmless from, or in connection with, any violation of US export laws by your employees, consultants, agents, or customers.
